Why Doesn’t God
Answer My Prayers?
Many of us pray and ask God for things that we want and need. Yet, it seems like we never get an answer to our prayers. We start to think that maybe God isn’t listening or doesn’t care enough to answer our prayers. We never think that we are the ones that are causing the problem.
If you want to see how to get answers to your prayers simply go to the book of Mark in the Bible, Chapter 11, verses 20 – 25.
Here, Jesus describes what real faith is and how to get the things you ask for in your prayers.
Verses 23 & 24 say, “Truly I tell you, whoever says to this mountain, Be lifted up and thrown into the sea! And does not doubt at all in his heart but believes that what he says will take place, it will be done for him. For this reason I am telling you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe (trust and be confident) that it is granted to you, and you will get it.” Amplified Bible.
What does this mean? Well, it means you ask God for your request, then you believe it is done, and you move on knowing God has granted it. What it does not mean is that you keep asking Him for it over and over or worrying in your mind when and if God is going to give it to you. Each time you ask again for the same thing you show your lack of faith. If you truly believed the first time you asked, you wouldn’t need to ask again … would you?!?
Looking at it from the opposite view, if you ask God for something but have doubts and do not believe that he has granted your request then you won’t receive it. Jesus says to a leper who was cured, “Arise, go thy way: they FAITH hath made thee whole,” Luke 17:19.
Oh, and there is more. Verses 25 & 26 let you know that you must forgive others, just as you ask God to forgive you. Holding grudges or having anger and hatred towards others can prevent you from receiving God’s blessings.
So here it is! Everything you need to know on how to get answers to your prayers! So, the next time you ask God for something, clear your heart by forgiving others and asking God to forgive you of your own sins, then ask God boldly for the things you desire, and go on your way with Faith in your heart knowing God has already granted them to you!
One final thought, look for the answers to your prayers in more than the way you expect it. For example, if you are having financial difficulty and are asking God to help you win the lottery. Well, millions of people ask God for the same thing everyday. Watch for God’s answers in other forms besides winning the lottery.
Our Heavenly Father loves us more than words can describe
and is such an Awesome God who hears and answers our prayers!
