Is the year 2012 the end of the world?
The Scenarios of Destruction
There is a growing buzz and concern over the year 2012. Many are beginning to believe that 2012 will be the end of the world. Here’s the three scenarios that are feeding this thinking:
According to the Mayan calendar “Long Count” which began in 3114 BC, it comes to an end as of December 21, 2012. Many see this ending as a prediction to the end of time and the world.
According to the prophecies of Nostradamus, a great comet known as “The Doomsday Comet” will impact the earth or pass near the earth causing great destruction in the Year 2012. In the new text of Nostradamus, the years 2008-2012 are referred to as the “Time of Troubles” which is described as a time of war and hopelessness.
According to NASA, there is going to be a Solar Storm in the year 2012. Solar storms can cause polar shifts (meaning that the North Pole becomes the South Pole, etc.) This of course can lead to great destruction. In addition, the rotational orbit of the Earth could be reversed. Again, major destruction would be the result. And to make matters worse, NASA says the comet SEDNA is due to come towards Earth in the year 2012. However, they claim it will miss Earth. BUT, if it doesn’t, they plan to blow the comet up which would send its fragments to Earth.
What should we as Christians believe?
As Christians, we believe in the Bible as the divinely inspired Word of God. We have our plan for the end of the world in the book of Revelation. Christians who believe in Christ as the Son of God and their Savior do not have to worry about the events that will define end times. They will be removed from the Earth in what is called, the Rapture. Christians are called God’s church and are the Bride of Christ. God will keep his church from harm and will remove his children from the Earth before any destruction occurs. The book of Revelations says that the Rapture will occur, then the Tribulation, the Battle of Armageddon, and the 1000 year Reign of Christ on the Earth.
Also remember, as Christians, we believe that God created our universe and solar system and that he alone controls the events that will occur.

God has a plan for you! You are here for a purpose. What you may have been taught or what you may believe may not be it at all! The truth is, God’s way is different than man’s way. He wants you to be in His family. He wants to be your Heavenly Father. He wants you to experience the joy, feel the power, and discover an incredible new life in Him. Best of all, it’s a free gift!
His plan of salvation and eternal life is based solely on the finished work of Christ’s death and resurrection. It requires that one totally trust Him for eternal life and not their own actions or deeds. There is nothing that you can do to earn eternal life in heaven! It is a totally free gift that God offers you!
If you haven’t accepted the free
gift of God of eternal life in Heaven, you can at this moment. What you need to
know is that regardless of who you are, where you're from, or how bad you may
have been, God still loves you with an awesome love and wants you to accept the
FREE gift of eternal life through faith in His Son.
Today, with all your heart confess that you have sinned and that you need the
free gift of eternal life and believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and
that He died for you! Please don’t put it off till later. If You die today,
then it will be too late, you would be lost forever because of your sin. Accept
the free gift of eternal life right now.
Accept God’s free gift of
eternal life and know you will be going to heaven when you die!
by saying the following prayer to God
Father God, I know I have sinned against you, I confess with my mouth that Jesus was your Son and that He died on the cross for my sins. I believe he arose from the dead and is now in Heaven with you. I ask for your forgiveness and I accept the free gift of eternal life that is in your Son Jesus Christ and ask you to come and be the Lord of my life. I pray in Jesus name. Amen.
There
is nothing magic about these words—it is the attitude of your heart that God
cares about.
Remember, nothing you can do will earn you eternal life or heaven. It is only
when you have a saving faith of relying solely on Christ for your future in
heaven.
If you just prayed that prayer, I have great news for you! You have been
adopted into the family of God. Your past mistakes and wrongs are totally
forgiven and you are a new creation in Christ. Yes, you are still the same
person with your likes, dislikes, habits, and the such, but now you are an heir
to God's incredible promises and your life has a new meaning! God sends His
Holy Spirit to live in you and your whole life can be exciting and new as you
learn to accept God’s great love for you.
Please know that God is awesome and mighty, and is full of wonder and amazement. He never fails you, always loves you, has a plan for your life, is now your heavenly Father and you are His child. He has sealed you with His Holy Spirit who has now come to live inside of you – guaranteeing your awesome inheritance as His child. The Bible says God wants to do more for you than you could ever ask for or image and that there is no way to ever measure the volume of His incredible and never ending love that He has for you.
No matter what happens to this world, you will have an awesome future full of joy and happiness with God your Father!
God has
a great purpose for you in this life and He has an incredible future for you in
eternity. He will use His spirit to guide you and lead you down the paths you
need to go. Most of all, you are His, and He will never let you be lost or
perish. He will remain with you always, through the good and bad that happens
in life.

Can you be sure you are going to Heaven?
The answer is YES! If you accept God’s free gift you will spend eternity in heaven. The Bible says:
“If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is the Son of God, and believe in your heart that God rose him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness and with thy mouth confession is made unto salvation”. Romans 10:9-10
Furthermore, the Bible (God’s Word) guarantees your eternal life by saying:
“These things have I written unto you who believe on the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may believe on the name of the Son of God”. 1 John 5:13
“Truly, truly, I say unto you, he that believes in me hath eternal life”. John 6:47
God loves us so much that he made eternal life a free gift that is received by faith:
“For God so greatly love and dearly prized the world that he gave his only begotten unique Son so that whoever believes in Him, shall not perish but have eternal, everlasting life”. John 3:16 Amp.
