Is Global Warming Real?

The issue of global warming tends to be a political issue and one of personal choice has to whether one subscribes to that particular theory of climate change in nature. Our church does not tell you what you should believe concerning this topic since we feel it is a personal belief. We do tell you that you should believe that nature is under the control of our Awesome God! And we want you to know that God loves you and we want you to accept Christ the free gift of eternal life offered through Jesus so that you can know you are going to Heaven.

Back to this topic of climate change. We will however set the record straight on the facts. Many of these kinds of theories are expounded onto the public to convince them to conform to some special interest group’s agenda. Most of these individuals do not want to know or care about the facts.

In the late 1970’s and early 80’s, scientists were proclaiming that we were on the dawn of entering a new ice age and that the earth would experience a cooling down process. It’s it funny how that just quietly went away.

Now, the buzz is the earth is getting hotter. And of course, it is man’s fault. Those who choose to believe this are saying that man is greater than nature. They claim that the pollutants from automobile emission is one the main causes. However, it is a scientific fact that one volcanic eruption sends more of these pollutants in the atmosphere that all of the cars that have ever been driven. BUT here's a fact, and that fact is, not since 1979 has the Earth's temperature risen. Instead, it has cooled. And, this winter is going down as one of the coldest in History.

Looking again at the claims of the climate change people. Then of course, there is the famous videos and news reports of  the ice caps melting in the North Pole. How many times have we seen that on TV? Well, what they have not showed anyone is that the ice has replaced itself. Nature has a way of doing that without the help of mankind. Just like the ozone. It seems to always expand just at the right time (during a volcanic eruption) and then contract at the right time, after the pollutants have escaped.

As Christians, we believe that God controls our world and has already laid out its destiny. As individuals living on this planet, we do have a responsibility to take care of God’s creation as best we can. As long as you remember that God controls nature, then please use your own judgment concerning what you believe about this “Global Warming” and other “the world is being destroyed by man” type of theories.
