Just recently a Christian family of 5 was killed instantly after leaving their church services. They were regular “serving” members, who had devoted their life to missions, to their church and even took on two foster children. The church was devastated over this tragedy that happened so suddenly when a driver going at 98 miles per hour, sped through an intersection, bounced off a fire hydrant and became airborne, only to fall on top of this family’s van, killing them upon impact. When this happens, we all feel acute grief and pain, and wonder, why God? Why does this happen and why to this Christian family who gave so much of their time? Amazingly, the answer comes, and we are no longer are angry. I became suddenly aware that God’s will is not for us to die untimely deaths, but to live a long and healthy life in order to share and increase the Kingdom of God. It is our purpose to always “petition” God for our protection, for our loved ones, continually and obediently to God’s purpose. As we live day to day in a “fallen” world, we are all subject to the evils that walk around daily in our lives. The only thing we have as a “weapon” against the dark forces is “prayer”. As Christians, we have to always be aware, and on guard, and to pray without ceasing, as to our protection in this dark world. God does listen when we petition Him. Knowing this, gives us strength and courage to go on, and be ourselves and not to fear. This family served courageously and died in God’s arms. The driver of the vehicle lived, but his fate is undetermined at this writing. He was also a father of two children, who now are without a Father. We will pray and petition to the Lord that the driver and the children who are alive, will come to know God through this tragedy. On the opening page of the TGCM it asks the question, “Are You Going to Heaven?” The answer to that question is critical. Life is too uncertain to wait until tomorrow! If you haven’t accepted the free gift of God of eternal life in Heaven, you can at this moment. What you need to know is that regardless of who you are, where you're from, or how bad you may have been, God still loves you with an awesome love and wants you to accept the FREE gift of eternal life through faith in His Son. Today, with all your heart confess that you need the free gift of eternal life and believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He died for you! Please don’t put it off till later. If You die today, then it will be too late, you would be lost forever because of your sin. You may not yet have all the answers to your questions, but please accept the free gift of eternal life right now. Accept God’s free gift of eternal life and know you will be going to heaven when you die! by saying the following prayer to God: Father God, I confess with my mouth that Jesus was your Son and that He died on the cross for my sins. I believe he arose from the dead and is now in Heaven with you. I ask for your forgiveness and accept the free gift of eternal life in Jesus name. Amen. There is nothing magic about these words. It is the intent of your heart that God sees. If you just prayed that prayer, I have great news for you! You have been adopted into the family of God. Your past mistakes and wrongs are totally forgiven and you are a new creation in Christ. Yes, you are still the same person with your likes, dislikes, habits, and the such, but now you are an heir to God's incredible promises and your life has a new meaning!
